Chapter 141: A Scheme Within a Scheme—Feng Su, the Unloved

“Jiuwei, what do you mean by that?” Father Feng stared at Li Jiuwei, then shifted his gaze to Feng Huang.
Feng Huang’s eyes darted about, her guilty conscience plain to see.
A suspicion surfaced in his mind.
“Feng Li’s disappearance has something to do with Feng Huang.”
“Impossible. Feng Li was Feng Huang’s biological brother. She was only a little over four years old at the time. How could she have possessed such a sinister mind?”
Father Feng denied it outright.
A four-year-old child could never have done such a thing.
Li Jiuwei’s sudden revelation was utterly absurd.
Old Master Feng had already taken a dislike to Li Jiuwei. He flew into a rage. “Sowing discord and spreading malicious lies.”
“Zhuo Wang, bring out the evidence.”
Zhuo Wang tossed a file onto the table. “The man who abducted Feng Li has confessed. The person who ordered him to do it was Feng Huang.”
The evidence was indisputable.
The person who had kidnapped Feng Li really was Feng Huang.
His most cherished eldest grandson had been ruined by his own granddaughter. Old Master Feng exploded in fury. “Feng Huang, he is your own brother. Why? Why did you do this? You were so young—how could you be so vicious?”
Slap!
Father Feng struck Feng Huang across the face. “Feng Li was your full brother, born to the same parents. You heartless little wretch!”
Clutching her cheek, Feng Huang burst into laughter.
She seemed to have gone mad as she shrieked, “What brother? He was rotten to the core, a born monster. And you call me heartless? Feng Li was the heartless one! When he grew up and wanted the family fortune, even though I was his own sister, he would still have sacrificed me and destroyed my life.”
“What was wrong with striking first? Dear Grandfather, Father, haven’t you always wanted us to fight each other to the death? You should be happy for me.”
“You vile creature! Feng Li was only five years old. How could he have harmed you?”
“Father... I knew for certain that he would harm me one day, so I struck first. And don’t pretend to be a good man in front of me. My mother’s death was caused by you and Cheng Lanyue. You bear a great deal of responsibility for what I’ve become.” Little by little, she tore away Father Feng’s hypocrisy.
None of this was a secret within the Feng family.
“What a tragedy for the family. What a tragedy...” Old Master Feng clutched his chest. His face suddenly turned deathly pale, and he collapsed unconscious, plunging the Feng family into chaos.
Feng Huang remained unmoved. She had always been a woman without a heart.
In her eyes, familial affection had long since turned to ashes.
“Li Jiuwei, you truly are capable of uncovering all this. Losing to you was my own fault. I should never have shown mercy and eliminated you both from the start. Then none of this would have happened.”
Li Jiuwei did not answer. She stared sharply at Feng Huang.
After a long while, she smiled. “Feng Huang, you’ve lost.”
The next moment, Feng Huang’s expression darkened. Then she suddenly smiled and leaned close to Li Jiuwei, lowering her voice. “Li Jiuwei, you and Feng Su will never grow old together.”
“Feng Huang, are you trying to sow discord?”

“No. I’m telling you that you and Feng Su have no future.”
Amusement flickered in Feng Huang’s eyes. In a low, eerie voice, she said, “You are the greatest variable. Fortunately, everything else has remained unchanged.”
She did not explain what she meant by “everything else.”
But Li Jiuwei took those words to heart.
After Feng Huang was locked up by the Feng family, Li Jiuwei kept replaying her words in her mind.
She turned around and fixed her gaze on Feng Su’s back.
He was arranging for the Feng family to deal with the aftermath. Li Jiuwei tugged at his sleeve. “Shall we go to the hospital?”
“Let’s go. I’d like to see their angry faces too.”
Old Master Feng had fainted from rage. Fortunately, there was nothing seriously wrong with him. By the time Feng Su and Li Jiuwei reached the hospital, he had already regained consciousness and was receiving an infusion.
When Feng Su and Li Jiuwei arrived together to visit him, Old Master Feng closed his eyes at once. “You’re already the head of the Feng family. Why have you come to see me?”
“You’ll always be my grandfather. Although you have always been ruthless toward me and looked down on me, I owe you some credit for reaching this position. You were ruthless because you wanted to shape me into the perfect creation in your hands. Without you, I wouldn’t be who I am today.”
Feng Su spoke as though to himself. He poured a glass of water and handed it to Old Master Feng.
His weathered eyes were utterly cold.
Old Master Feng knocked the glass away. “Get out!”
Feng Su smiled indifferently. “All right. Rest well, Grandfather. I’ll be waiting for you to recover so that you can come with me to retrieve my dear elder brother.”
“Where is Feng Li?”
He questioned Feng Su urgently.
Feng Su ignored him. As he and Li Jiuwei left together, they happened to run into Father Feng.
Father Feng had probably overheard their conversation.
He, too, asked about Feng Li.
“Father, bring something to trade. I’m a businessman. I don’t do deals at a loss.”
“I’m your own father, and you still want to keep accounts with me?” Father Feng’s face flushed with anger, his neck reddening as well.
What an unfilial son!
“You should be the one who knows best where Feng Li is,” Li Jiuwei suddenly said.
Father Feng narrowed his eyes. A flicker of panic crossed them. His reaction was proof enough that he was hiding something from Feng Su.
Feng Su understood at once. He said coldly, “You really are a wonderful father. The three of us were cursed with you as our father. We must have committed eight lifetimes’ worth of sins.”
“Feng Su!”
Father Feng lost his temper. When he looked at Li Jiuwei, the calm warmth he had once shown her was gone.
Everything from the past had been an act.
Most people in the Feng family were sick in one way or another.

Feng Su and Li Jiuwei left together, and he asked what she had discovered.
Li Jiuwei had gone to great lengths to uncover all of it.
She told Feng Su everything.
But when it came to Feng Li, she hesitated.
Father Feng had actually found Feng Li long ago, but had continued to pretend otherwise.
At first, Li Jiuwei could not understand his motives.
Later...
She gradually guessed the truth.
Father Feng cared about Feng Li. He wanted to protect him. In the Feng family, the more one possessed, the more one had to endure.
Moreover, Father Feng had found Feng Li when he was still very young.
It had to be said that Father Feng had considered Feng Li and Feng Huang, but had never taken Feng Su into account.
He appeared to be a good father, but in reality, he had been plotting against Feng Su all along.
Although Feng Su was the heir apparent, danger had always surrounded him.
After listening to everything, Feng Su remained calm. He asked only one question.
“Where is Feng Li?”
“You’ve actually met him before. He is Qing Yi.”
“Qing Yi?” The young man whose appearance resembled his own.
That was Feng Li?
How was that possible?
Feng Li was five years older than them. How could he look so much younger?
Then he remembered Qing Yi’s face. It really did resemble his own.
That man was his elder brother, Feng Li.
How absurd. How laughable.
Feng Su’s expression turned solemn, then a mocking smile slowly appeared on his lips.
His father had shown him no kindness, and his mother had given him no love.
Li Jiuwei felt a pang of sympathy for Feng Su. His biological father had used him as a shield for Feng Li, while his mother had treated him as a bargaining chip for profit.
“Jiuwei, I really am unloved...”
“Who says that? I love you.”
Li Jiuwei wrapped her arms around Feng Su’s waist.
