Chapter 112: Is It a Crime Not to Do Cosplay?
After everyone had left, Sikong Xu finally returned to Ye Xi’s side. Although Zhao Tian was indeed frightened by him this time, there was no guarantee he wouldn’t come back to bother Ye Xi again.
Therefore, Sikong Xu repeatedly urged Ye Xi to call him immediately if she ever encountered such a situation again.
“Got it,” Ye Xi replied with a hint of impatience.
Then Sikong Xu turned to Liu Mingming. He knew his sister had a rather cold personality, so she probably didn’t have many friends at school. Perhaps Liu Mingming was her only friend.
With a smile, he said to Liu Mingming, “Liu Mingming, if you don’t mind, how about coming to my house for lunch? Little Xi must have caused you quite a bit of trouble at school.”
“Sikong Xu!” Ye Xi called out, indignant. What did he mean by saying she caused trouble? What kind of brother was he?
“No, no, no, I’m usually quite absent-minded. Little Xi has helped me a lot; it should be me causing trouble for her,” Liu Mingming said, her cheeks flushed as she shook her adorable little head.
“How are you so amazing?” Ye Xi, for once, took the initiative to engage with Sikong Xu.
Seeing Little Xi speak to him so willingly, Sikong Xu was immediately thrilled! In the years they’d known each other, this was a rare occurrence indeed.
“Ha ha, of course, it’s because I entered the Chenxi Academy that I became so capable. It’s the school where my parents graduated from...” Suddenly, Sikong Xu shuddered and stopped himself mid-sentence. He knew that mentioning his parents could only stir up pain, as it was their actions that had shattered Ye Xi’s family.
If it weren’t for his two parents who died young, Ye Xi would have been a cheerful, bright, and lively girl.
The two fell into a long silence, leaving Liu Mingming awkward and unsure of what to do.
After a while, Sikong Xu spoke hoarsely, “Do you hate me?”
His words caught Ye Xi’s beautiful eyes by surprise.
Did she hate him? Ye Xi shook her head. If it weren’t for him, she would have been homeless years ago. Over the years, he had always made allowances for her, taken care of her, and thought only of her…
In truth, she had long since developed feelings for him...
As she pondered this, a subtle unease stirred within her, although her expression remained calm.
“Sikong Xu, you’ve changed.”
The next moment, Ye Xi’s words stunned Sikong Xu. She noticed his change?
Indeed, Sikong Xu had changed. The person he was half a month ago was entirely different from who he was now. Though he was still himself, his soul’s essence had completely altered.
Perhaps it was more accurate to say that the current Sikong Xu had replaced the former.
“All right, all right, let’s hurry back. Mikasa is still waiting at home,” Sikong Xu quickly changed the subject to avoid further discussion.
As expected, mentioning Mikasa transformed Ye Xi’s demeanor. She didn’t say another word to Sikong Xu and simply took Liu Mingming’s hand, inviting her to come home for a meal.
Faced with the warm hospitality of the siblings, Liu Mingming couldn’t refuse. After making a quick call home, she went with them by car.
Back at the house, Mikasa had already prepared a sumptuous meal. It had been a week since Sikong Xu last saw her, and he was visibly excited. Mikasa, too, was pleased, though her reserved nature meant her feelings were less overt.
“Xu, welcome back. Little Xi too,” Mikasa said with a gentle smile, like a devoted wife awaiting her husband’s return.
“Mikasa, I missed you so much!” Sikong Xu crouched down and embraced her slender waist, resting his head against her chest, playfully teasing her.
Mikasa didn’t stop his antics; she simply stroked his black hair silently.
Feeling the softness against his cheek, Sikong Xu secretly resolved that after dinner, he would return to school to find Ye Fei and make sure Mikasa got admitted to Chenxi Academy. It would be lonely for her alone at home.
After holding Mikasa for a while, Sikong Xu let go, mindful of the two middle school girls watching nearby—after all, Liu Mingming’s face was already flushed.
Mikasa’s cooking was excellent. Sikong Xu was thoroughly satisfied with the meal, and even Ye Xi’s gaze towards Mikasa brightened considerably, clearly pleased with the food as well.
As for Liu Mingming, the young girl’s stomach had visibly grown from the feast.
After the meal, Ye Xi and Liu Mingming said they wanted to go shopping. For their safety, Sikong Xu had Mikasa accompany them. Without her three-dimensional maneuver gear, Mikasa’s personal combat strength was greatly reduced, but once equipped with the “CR-UNIT,” she might even surpass Sikong Xu.
The “CR-UNIT” was an incredibly advanced piece of technology, almost unfair in its power. Yet it had limitations—the “CR-UNIT” was a technological artifact with little room for development, meaning Mikasa’s strength would be difficult to improve further.
Although Ye Xi didn’t speak much with Mikasa, their relationship wasn’t bad. Sikong Xu thought perhaps this outing would bring them closer.
So, the three young women went shopping while Sikong Xu headed straight to Chenxi Academy.
Though weekends were class-free, many students remained on campus. While classes were off, many training facilities were still open, so students who didn’t go home often chose to train.
Upon entering the school, Sikong Xu went directly to the back courtyard of the administration building. Before the stone sculpture of Ye Fei, Sikong Xu was seemingly expected, as a flash of white light instantly transported him to a private space filled with a panoramic three-dimensional cosmic map.
“You’re here,” a voice slowly sounded as Sikong Xu entered the space.
But Sikong Xu did not see Ye Fei himself; instead, a shimmering golden light appeared first. As the light faded, Ye Fei came into view.
This time, Ye Fei wore the armor of a Golden Saint. The golden glow was emitted from the armor itself.
“Don’t you ever get tired of cosplay?” Sikong Xu joked. He was sure that before crossing over, Ye Fei was a complete homebody—the kind who only had virtual girlfriends online.
“I don’t even understand the romance of cosplay...” Ye Fei fiddled with his armor, clearly fond of the Golden Saint’s suit.
“Well, if you’re so bold, why not cross-dress?”
“As a man standing seven feet tall, how could I cross-dress?” Ye Fei shot him a glare, then became serious. “I roughly know why you came this time.”
“I do want to get Mikasa admitted to Chenxi Academy,” Sikong Xu said.
Upon hearing this, Ye Fei’s eyes lit up.
“But...” Ye Fei’s tone shifted, “for the stability of the dimensional barrier I established, Mikasa absolutely cannot traverse the fantasy worlds, at least not yet.”
Sikong Xu had hoped to team up with Mikasa for some adventures, but Ye Fei’s words dashed that idea.
“In addition, Mikasa must be in the same class as you. Due to her special status, no other students can be added to your class.”
Sikong Xu considered this and said, “That’s no problem. I’m used to being alone anyway. Oh, by the way, what was the surprise you mentioned last time?”
Ye Fei smiled mysteriously. “Actually... your innate talent can be... upgraded!”
