Chapter 56: Selling the Giant Bloodline Potion
Since Sikong Xu wanted to sell the "Primary Giant Bloodline Potion," the trading area beside the Exchange Hall was undoubtedly his best choice. In order to fetch a good price, Sikong Xu not only checked the purchase price for the "Primary Giant Bloodline," but also the price the Exchange Hall would pay for it.
One thousand credits—that was the price offered by the Exchange Hall for acquiring the "Primary Giant Bloodline Potion." Seeing this, Sikong Xu couldn't help but curse. That was a loss of two-thirds—what a rip-off!
Still, this gave Sikong Xu a baseline in his mind.
In theory, every student—even the teachers—had the right to set up a stall in the trading area, but you had to pay a fee, naturally in credits. A standard stall cost ten credits per hour—seemingly negligible, but it added up over time.
As for who collected these credits, that brought up the true management of Dawn Academy.
The Student Council! Dawn Academy’s approach to student management was highly liberal; aside from the heads of each grade, teachers rarely managed student affairs. However, not managing didn’t mean indulging students. Thus, authority was handed over to the students themselves, and the organization of those with power was called the Student Council.
This meant the Student Council wielded real and significant authority within Dawn Academy. Not only that, but its members enjoyed tempting privileges, so countless students fought tooth and nail for a spot within.
Although Sikong Xu grumbled at the Student Council’s extortionate fees, he had no choice but to abide by their rules. So, he obediently paid for two hours and set up his humble stall.
Perhaps all the prime spots were already taken, because Sikong Xu’s stall ended up in a remote corner of the trading area. Although technically part of the trading zone, few people passed by; the occasional student hurried towards the center, barely sparing Sikong Xu’s stall a glance.
Sitting on a small stool, Sikong Xu placed the "Primary Giant Bloodline Potion" at his feet—this was his so-called "stall."
"Is no one really going to take a look?" Sikong Xu had been there for half an hour without seeing a single customer.
Not even a passing glance—he was utterly at a loss.
From what he knew, the "Primary Giant Bloodline Potion" he possessed was definitely a hot commodity. If he’d set up in the center of the trading district, people would be fighting over it.
It might even sell for far more than the price of redeeming a Primary Giant Bloodline at the Exchange Hall.
After all, the bloodline obtained from the Exchange Hall could only be used by the purchaser—it would immediately bind itself to the buyer, making it unusable by anyone else.
But the "Giant Bloodline Potion" was different. It was an item—anyone could use it. That alone made its hidden value considerably higher.
In fact, the more experienced students rarely bought things from the Exchange Hall. Price aside, Sikong Xu had noticed that truly rare treasures simply weren’t available there.
The Exchange Hall only offered ordinary skills, equipment, items, and bloodlines. The real treasures had to be brought out of the fantasy worlds by the students themselves.
Sikong Xu had only one hour left with his stall.
He shook his head, trying to dispel his boredom. Once his time was up, if it didn’t sell, so be it.
With an S-rank evaluation enabling him to mortgage up to 5,000 credits, Sikong Xu was in no rush to earn a few thousand more. Perhaps the bloodline potion would be useful in the future.
As for why Sikong Xu didn’t use the potion himself? He simply didn’t care for it.
With his "Dimensional Summoning" and "Contract Summoning"—his two golden advantages—Sikong Xu neither wanted nor needed the Giant bloodline. He was confident he could become powerful even without it.
Another half hour passed. Sikong Xu’s patience was running thin. Selling the potion wasn’t his main priority anyway, and he decided not to wait out the last thirty minutes.
His most pressing concern was settling in and finding an opportunity to summon Mikasa.
He sighed softly and prepared to leave.
Just as he was about to pack away the potion, a clear, melodious voice—like the song of an oriole—reached his ears, instantly brightening his mood.
"Hey, how much for this potion?"
It was a girl’s voice, bright and crisp, with a hint of willful charm.
Sikong Xu looked up from his stool and was taken aback.
Before him stood a petite beauty, not very tall—her head only reached his shoulder.
Yet her figure was perfectly proportioned: long legs, a slender waist, and a flawless, lovely face. Every gesture tugged at Sikong Xu’s heartstrings.
He looked her up and down. Her hair was tied in a single ponytail trailing down her back. She wore the blue-and-white Dawn Academy first-year uniform, and her white stockings accentuated her legs in a way that was irresistible.
As Sikong Xu’s gaze wandered to her flat chest, he sighed quietly, as if lamenting something.
"Hey, you’ve been staring at me for ages, haven’t you… Pervert!" the girl’s crisp, imperious voice sounded again.
"Ah… what a pity…" Sikong Xu continued to stare at her chest.
"You… you… you pervert, you lecher! Who stares at a girl’s chest the moment they meet!"
Flustered by his gaze, she crossed her arms over her chest, her face flushed with embarrassment.
"And what’s with that regretful tone—don’t you know how rude you’re being!"
Bang—
Clearly mortified, the girl kicked Sikong Xu off his stool.
"Damn it!" Groaning in pain, Sikong Xu sprang to his feet. In truth, the moment he saw her he had recovered his wits, but the sight of her flat chest always made him sigh.
"Why did you kick me all of a sudden?" he protested.
"Hmph. How much for your potion?"
Evidently uninterested in further argument, she ignored his complaint and got straight to the point.
"Four thousand credits," Sikong Xu replied irritably, still rubbing his sore backside.
"What! Four thousand? Why don’t you just rob me? The Primary Giant Bloodline in the Exchange Hall only costs three thousand credits!"
The girl was exasperated—this was daylight robbery.
"Take it or leave it." Sikong Xu was still holding a grudge over her earlier kick; besides, he didn’t need the credits urgently.
"How about a discount? Three thousand credits—same as the Exchange Hall," she tried to haggle, clearly determined to get the potion.
"Four thousand. If you won’t buy, I’m leaving."
"You! Do you know who I am? It’s your privilege that I’d even consider buying from you! Plenty of students would be thrilled to give me things for free," she said, growing desperate.
"Four thousand. No bargaining. If you’re broke, then move along."
"You…"
Sikong Xu remained unmoved. But after another glance at her, the corners of his mouth curled into a wicked grin.
"Of course, if you really want to buy it for three thousand… there’s a condition…"
"What condition? Out with it!" Her eyes lit up at his words.
If her older sister weren’t so intent on collecting these bloodline items, she’d never stoop to bargaining with this lecher.
"Take me out for a meal," Sikong Xu said with a radiant smile, flashing a row of white teeth.
