Chapter 139: Reactions
Ouyang Zhuo reacted with lightning speed. The moment he heard the commotion outside, he grabbed his knife and pressed it firmly against Liu Amin’s throat.
As the intruders surged into the room, Ouyang Zhuo bellowed at them, "Stop right there! Not one of you move! If anyone dares to take another step, I will kill her right here and now."
Terrified of dying, Liu Amin waved her hands frantically and shrieked at the men, "Back off! All of you, move away! Don't come any closer!"
The men, however, seemed to disregard her orders. They stared at the group with eyes as cold and predatory as wolves, their gazes locked onto them with unwavering intensity.
"Tell your people to get out! If anyone dares to approach, I’ll slit your throat right now and see how long you last!" Ouyang Zhuo shouted. He pressed the tip of the blade into her skin just enough to draw a thin line. Liu Amin felt a sudden chill against her neck, followed by the sensation of something warm trickling down.
Petrified, Liu Amin instinctively reached up to clutch her throat, but Ouyang Zhuo slapped her hand away.
"Don't move! If you fidget, I'll cut your throat open," Ouyang Zhuo hissed. He was a ruthless man, and as he pressed the blade deeper into her flesh, Liu Amin froze, paralyzed by fear.
Meanwhile, Shu Yiming cleared a path ahead, shouting as he walked, "Move aside! Why are you crowding us? Do you want to see your boss die right here? Let me tell you, if she dies now, you can kiss your paychecks goodbye!"
The threat proved effective. The men retreated instantly, one of them even rushing to the door to hold it open for them.
Liu Amin had never imagined that even after summoning her people and being discovered, she would still be unable to escape.
Ouyang Zhuo and Shu Yiming shoved Liu Amin into the car.
Once inside, Shu Yiming slapped her across the face without a shred of mercy. "I’m going to ask you one last time: where are they? The person earlier was lying, wasn't he? He was just trying to lure us to the wrong place to make fools of us, right? I’m counting to three. If you don't tell me the truth, don't blame me for what this blade does."
Shu Yiming’s eyes were bloodshot and wild, his face twisted into a mask of rage as he pressed the knife deeper into her skin.
"No, no, I'll talk! I'll tell you! Just keep driving forward, and I’ll give you the directions," Liu Amin stammered, trembling uncontrollably. She wiped a cold sweat from her forehead, her face drained of all color.
Shu Yiming nodded and slammed his foot on the accelerator, the car surging forward. Ouyang Zhuo remained on high alert, his eyes fixed on Liu Amin, wary of any sudden trickery.
Yet, none of them expected what they would find upon arrival. Aside from a single, unconscious guard slumped by the entrance, the place was completely empty.
Liu Amin was paralyzed with terror. She waved her hands frantically, crying out to Shu Yiming and Ouyang Zhuo, "I don't know what happened! This has nothing to do with me! Look, my man is right here, knocked out cold—the two children must have escaped!"
