In the old master's car, Moyu sat with Chichi in her arms beside Xia Zi, while Mo Qing sat in the front passenger seat.

Originally, Moyu hadn't wanted to sit next to Xia Zi either, afraid she might accidentally kill her. But Mo Qing had only needed to say a single sentence to her, and she obediently gave up her seat in front.

“Do you want me to sit on your lap, dearest?”

It was utterly horrifying! Moyu’s usually calm expression cracked. What was going on? Could it be...

Mo Qing had mutated too?

Xia Zi sat quietly, her eyes glistening with unshed tears, looking like a wronged lady. Unfortunately, no one paid her any attention. At this moment, she was not a lady, but a clown making a scene.

Very soon, they arrived at their destination—the same luxury shopping mall as before.

This luxury mall truly deserved its name, “The King’s Garden.” Shops for clothing, dining, and supplies were arranged around a vast central plaza, while the side without buildings served as the entrance and exit, resembling a tiger’s gaping maw, waiting for little lambs to willingly step inside.

The goods inside were not only expensive but also of excellent quality—sturdy and durable. That was why Moyu chose this place to stock up on supplies.

“Yu, let’s go look at clothes,” Xia Zi said, trying her best to appear innocent and full of anticipation, her voice so saccharine it almost made Moyu sick.

I’m not Lin Mo, so what’s the point of putting on this act? How nauseating.

“Chichi, where do you want to go?” Moyu ignored Xia Zi entirely.

“Food.” Chichi, knowing she held less weight in her sister’s heart than Xia Zi, played quietly with Moyu’s soft black hair, voicing her desire in a small, subdued tone.

“All right.” Moyu thought, how agreeable! She turned to Xia Zi and said, “You go ahead and browse for clothes. I’ll take Chichi to get something to eat first. Cousin, what about you?”

“Clothes,” Mo Qing replied, uninterested in food.

“Yu, let’s go together—” Before Xia Zi could finish, Moyu turned and walked away, leaving Xia Zi staring after her in frustration.

“If you leave, what about my clothes? Who’s going to pay for them?” Xia Zi swallowed her words, her face turning an ugly shade.

“Hmph,” Mo Qing gave Xia Zi a sideways glance before turning to leave as well. Xia Zi hurried after her.

Meanwhile, Moyu and Chichi didn’t head for the food court but instead detoured to the car exhibition.

“Chichi, shall we look at cars first?”

“Mm!” Chichi was happy just to spend time alone with Moyu.

“Welcome,” greeted the hostesses, all dressed in cheongsams, graceful and poised.

Then, a cute-looking young woman stepped out from among them to lead Moyu to view the cars.

“Lingzi!” Chichi exclaimed joyfully, recognizing a familiar face.

“Lingzi, what are you doing here?” Moyu frowned slightly. Nan Lingzi was Moyu’s childhood friend. In front of others, they acted like fire and water, but in truth, they were friends who would risk their lives for each other.

In her last life, after the apocalypse, she hadn’t found Lingzi again, so she’d poured all her friendship into Xia Zi, only to be disappointed.

Now, seeing Lingzi again, she was determined never to let go.

“I’m working, can’t you see?” Lingzi’s cute appearance belied her straightforward, easygoing nature.

Moyu rolled her eyes. “Show me the safest… hmm, off-road vehicle.” Truthfully, what she wanted most was an armored car, but there was nowhere to buy one.

“Huh? Why would a rich young lady like you want an off-roader? Hey! Why’d you hit me? Wah!” Lingzi shielded her head with both hands.

“Hmph.”

“All right, let’s go.”

“Lingzi, seriously, can’t you quit this job?”

“Why? I like it!”

“Do you need money?”

“That’s not it.”

“...” Moyu paused. “Fine, I have no one to keep me company.”

“Huh? Then…”

“Hehe, you really are the best, Lingzi!”

“Aren’t you going to find your dear Zi instead?” Lingzi had never liked Xia Zi. “Not to be critical, but you…”

“All right, all right. So, when will you quit?”

“I’ll finish out this month.”

“No way!” Moyu’s tone was both anxious and angry.

“It’s already started; I can’t just walk away.”

“No, please?”

“All right, I give in!”

“Good, Lingzi. Let’s go buy a car!”

Chichi nestled quietly in Moyu’s arms, listening to the two sisters chat.

“This is the newest off-road model, the S-T19, just released by the Lambo Company. Only two hundred units worldwide—low fuel consumption, top-notch safety…” As soon as Lingzi touched the car, she launched into an enthusiastic introduction. It was partly due to her professional skills, but mostly because she was a super car enthusiast.

“It seats up to seven, the seats can be reconfigured, and the best part—look!” Lingzi’s eyes sparkled with excitement.

She pointed beneath the car seat. Moyu set Chichi down on the seat, and Chichi watched Lingzi’s actions with curiosity.

Lingzi lifted the carpet under the seat, and then a second layer, revealing a panel lined with soft, furry material.

“Each seat has a storage compartment about fifty centimeters high, and all seven compartments connect, holding up to a ton of goods—perfect for hiding things.” Lingzi paused. “Though I doubt that’s useful for you—ah!”

Moyu hugged Lingzi tightly, burying Lingzi’s head in her chest.

“It’s incredibly useful! Lingzi, how can you be so adorable!” What a pleasant surprise! This car was perfect!

“Let go! Let me go!”
