So it turns out she was jealous.
When Mo Yu opened the door, she saw only the wedding dress; the person she was avoiding for the moment was nowhere in sight. A faint gloom stirred in her heart, though she could not quite say why.
Truthfully, Mo Yu knew what she was thinking; she simply refused to admit it. No matter what, Qing Xuan held an important place in her heart—an undeniable fact. The words she had spoken that morning had been fueled by anger. Afterwards, as she returned to her room, she kept replaying everything that had happened since the apocalypse. By day's end, she had calmed down considerably. At least in her memories, Qing Xuan had never truly harmed her. As for his claim that he was blocking her path home and she could only return by marrying him—Mo Yu thought she’d have to be foolish to believe such nonsense. If he could have stopped her, why didn’t he simply whisk her away to this strange planet from the start, rather than endure hardships alongside her?
By now, Mo Yu’s anger had nearly dissipated, though a trace of awkwardness lingered. She needed to convince herself, so she could spend a lifetime with the one she loved most.
Mo Yu was someone who followed through. Since her mind was made up, she resolved not to dwell further.
She opened the door and immediately spotted a certain someone hiding behind a potted plant. A smile blossomed on her face, her lips curling up despite herself.
“Ma—Master,” Qing Xuan’s gaze burned intensely, fastened on Mo Yu. His hesitant longing—wanting to approach but not daring—made her want to pull him close and tease him.
Mo Yu thought so, and acted accordingly.
She used her rarely-employed post-apocalyptic teleportation ability, appearing beside Qing Xuan in a flash. Bracing herself with one arm beside him, she blocked his escape, trapping him in a corner.
Yes, it was the classic kabedon!
“Ma—Master!” Qing Xuan’s reaction! Ah, so familiar!
She remembered the last time Qing Xuan had been so bashful; he’d been completely undone. So…so embarrassingly shy!
Mo Yu raised an eyebrow, watching as Qing Xuan, encircled in the small space she created, slowly blushed like a red shrimp and slid down to the floor.
He…he fainted!
…
The wedding was hastily arranged, yet the “chapel” felt as though it had been prepared for ages. Mo Yu looked left and right like a child, filled with unprecedented excitement.
“My lady, I’ll take my leave.” The attendant who had been following her did not enter the “chapel,” not wanting to disturb her joy or make her feel awkward. He excused himself quietly.
Mo Yu watched the attendant exit her sight, letting out a quiet cheer in her heart. After all, she was no longer a child; acting that way in front of others would be embarrassing. She wiped her brow in relief.
Once the attendant left, Mo Yu finally relaxed, carefully surveying the “chapel” where she would soon be wed.
This “chapel” was the most magnificent Mo Yu had seen in both her lifetimes. It was nothing like the ornate buildings on Earth—when looking out from inside, she found that the walls were transparent, making her feel as if suspended in midair. Yet, crouching down, she could feel the solid membrane beneath her. When she touched it, waves rippled outward, like water.
How wondrous! Mo Yu marveled.
Of course, if she were truly suspended dozens of meters above the ground, would she not be afraid? That was the marvel of this structure—it wasn’t simply raised straight up from the earth. At its base was a gigantic tree, and the chapel rested on one of its enormous branches. Other branches extended around, encircling and protecting the chapel, the lush greenery creating a refreshing atmosphere.
Mo Yu plopped down onto the membrane, watching the gentle ripples spread. Suddenly, her vision blurred, and darkness enveloped her. Her heart tightened—the abrupt change was unsettling. She tried to stand, but found herself wrapped in softness, as if the whole space cocooned her. Anxiety and frustration welled up.
“What on earth is this!” Suddenly, something cold wound around her arm, startling her.
…
“Master, it’s me.” A deep, spectral voice slid past her ear, penetrating her eardrum. “Hey! What are you doing? It’s so dark here! Let’s get out!” Mo Yu felt uneasy, probably because she was used to being in control with Qing Xuan. This sudden reversal of roles made her inexplicably restless; her tone was tinged with impatience.
“Master, today is our wedding day.” Qing Xuan seemed oblivious to her warning, reaching out to pull Mo Yu fully into his arms.
“I know. Let me go.” Mo Yu began to struggle.
“After we’re married, you’ll never leave me again.” Ignoring her resistance, Qing Xuan placed one hand on her back, the other disrupting her carefully styled wedding hair. His long fingers threaded through her locks, massaging gently.
“Hey, you…that feels so good~” One moment she fought him, the next she melted in his embrace like a kitten.
“Master, Qing Xuan can give massages, warm your bed, cook for you, and will always be obedient. Will you only want me?” His voice was filled with helplessness and boundless grievance, hoarse, as if he might cry at any moment.
“Qing Xuan, what are you so afraid of?” Mo Yu hugged him back, soothing him as one would a child—this man who would soon be her husband. She couldn’t understand why Qing Xuan always seemed so insecure.
Drip, drip. Qing Xuan said nothing, but Mo Yu felt wetness at her neck. Was he…crying?
“There, there, don’t cry.” Mo Yu’s heart ached. She lifted her head to kiss Qing Xuan’s chin. His skin was smooth and fine, and Mo Yu found herself losing control, rising on tiptoe to kiss higher—forgetting that above his chin were those lips, thin but with a delightful taste.
“Mmm~” Mo Yu felt Qing Xuan freeze in her arms, then…collapse against her.
Oh heavens, he’s so heavy!
Mo Yu hadn’t expected Qing Xuan to be so shy even in the darkness, blushing so easily.
Don’t ask how Mo Yu knew he was blushing even though she couldn’t see—he practically radiated steam! So hot!
“Master, you’re so annoying!” Qing Xuan, emboldened, bit her in return. Mo Yu yelped in pain, loosening her embrace, and Qing Xuan seized the chance to flee.
“Hey! What’s gotten into you?” Mo Yu covered her mouth with one hand and tried to grab the man acting so strangely.
“Bad Master!” Qing Xuan finally displayed his serpent nature, escaping her grasp.
“Σ(дlll)” Hey, don’t go! Come back and explain yourself!
A sudden flash of light forced Mo Yu to close her eyes. Was this a dream or reality? She could no longer tell.
When she awoke again, she found herself sprawled awkwardly on the ground.
Mo Yu: “(つд)…” She quietly pulled her skirt, which had somehow ridden up past her thighs to cover her face, back down. So embarrassing! Thank goodness no one saw.
She pushed herself up, her hair swinging before her eyes. Strange—hadn’t it been styled just now? Mo Yu was puzzled. Perhaps…?
She squinted. It seemed what had just happened was no dream.
Not long after Mo Yu stood up, the tightly closed door was knocked on. “My lady, the hour has arrived.”
…
So soon? Mo Yu was startled, looking outside. Sure enough, the sun had set, and the moon shone with a ghostly blue light.
“Yes, I see.” Mo Yu strode to the door and opened the chapel entrance. Before her was a sea of blue—blue skin, blue eyes, blue fur. She looked at the creature fluttering before her, reminiscent of a puppy, paused for a moment, then decisively shut the door.
“What the hell is this…” Mo Yu raged inwardly.
“My lady, um, I’m a palace attendant, here to…using your home language, I’m here to help you with your makeup! Yes, makeup!”
Mo Yu took a deep breath, opened the door again, and poked the chubby little puppy-like creature.
“Mmm! So comfy!” The puppy flew into her hand, begging for more, clearly unsatisfied.
Mo Yu loved fluffy animals, and she knew exactly where they liked to be petted. Soon the puppy’s tail wagged wildly, nearly barking with happiness.
“Master! Hateful! Flirting with others!” Qing Xuan, who had been sulking nearby, finally couldn’t take it and stormed off.
“Uh, Qing…how did I offend your prince?” Mo Yu sighed, turning to the puppy resting quietly in her palm.
“Perhaps you interacted with another male creature. His Highness is very possessive,” the puppy replied, licking its blue paw.
“Oh,” Mo Yu realized, “you’re male?”
“Yes, my lady.”
“Can you transform into a human?”
“Yes, my lady.”
“Will you present me with a special gift today, perhaps a handsome boy?”
“Yes, my lady.” The puppy’s tongue froze mid-lick.
“My lady, no, listen to me—!”
Mo Yu flung the puppy from her hand and went after Qing Xuan.
Mo Yu: “ヽ(≧Д≦)ノ So he was jealous!” Happy (¬3¬)
