I was about to go to sleep when I suddenly realized I was in the middle of a PK! My mind instantly cleared up, and seeing so many big names from my batch at the same time scared me silly—any trace of drowsiness vanished.

I started wondering if I should play the sympathy card, maybe ask my lovely readers for some votes. Who knows, perhaps someone would pity me and throw a vote my way, or even toss a hundred book coins as a reward...

To be honest, because of the sudden outbreak, I haven’t been able to work for three months, and my pockets are completely empty. That’s why I started this book in the first place, just hoping to scrape together a full attendance bonus. I didn’t expect the stats to look pretty good once it got recommended.

But now, the current numbers probably can’t even carry me through the first round—I’m honestly feeling pretty desperate! With just over three thousand favorites and a word count of a hundred thousand, everything just feels far too little.

Originally, I thought I wouldn’t even be up for PK until around 170,000 words, but the editor arranged it now. I can’t tell if this is a blessing or a curse.

My writing isn’t great, and I know the plot has plenty of holes for readers to pick at, but I still want to take a walk across that banner.

Since nothing else is working, I’ll just have to trade updates for your recommendation votes and rewards.

Here’s the new update rule!

If daily recommendation votes reach 500, I’ll add one extra chapter!
If daily rewards accumulate to the equivalent of one Hall Master, I’ll add another chapter!
If a Leader appears, I’ll go all out with twenty chapters!

I’m ready to give it my all. Mark my words: as long as I make it through the PK and get a banner recommendation, I’ll explode with at least twenty chapters on the day of release. If I can’t deliver, I’ll cross-dress—yes, you read that right, cross-dress!
