056 - The Violent One
“Today I must teach this bastard a lesson!” Ye Lifeng declared.
“If you want to teach me a lesson, let’s see if you have what it takes!” Lu Yichen sneered coldly. Earlier, when he fought Ye Lifeng, he hadn’t used any real taekwondo moves—just random punches and kicks—because he liked saving his best moves for later. Only after suffering a few blows himself would he have a reason to make her feel sorry for him. But that didn’t mean he would actually lose to anyone. “Since Vivi asked me to stop, then—”
Like the wind, his leg shot out with blinding speed, striking Ye Lifeng square in the chest. Ye Lifeng hadn’t expected such swiftness; the blow sent him stumbling several steps backward. He struggled to steady himself, but finally fell to the ground, clutching his chest, his brows knitted in pain, as if he’d suffered a heavy blow. Meanwhile, Lu Yichen stood tall where he was, his face full of defiance and insolence.
“Senior!” Xia Yuwei had already rushed to Ye Lifeng’s side. The anxiety and frustration in her eyes could not be hidden. If not for her, he would never have been beaten like this! She owed her senior so much now, and her resentment toward Lu Yichen only grew stronger in her heart.
She crouched down and held Ye Lifeng’s arm, trying to help him up, her voice anxious, “Senior Ye, are you all right?”
“I’m fine…” Ye Lifeng steadied himself and stood up slowly. Though he was still a little short of breath, he managed a smile for Xia Yuwei. He didn’t want her to worry—after all, this was a matter between men. He only hated that he hadn’t been able to defend her honor.
Xia Yuwei’s gaze drifted to where Lu Yichen stood.
He was five or six meters away from them, bathed in moonlight, his handsome features almost divine. At that moment, his eyes blazed, fixed solely on Xia Yuwei. That gaze made her unconsciously let go of Ye Lifeng’s arm.
“Lu Yichen, how could you be so violent?! How can you just hit people like that, and so ruthlessly! I really feel like I don’t know you anymore…” Xia Yuwei shouted at Lu Yichen.
Tonight, she’d truly had enough! She was fed up! Why did he have to be so chaotic and reckless, turning her life upside down and dragging her friends into the mess as well?
“Vivi, I didn’t!” Lu Yichen stood tall, stubbornly insisting.
“You didn’t? Haven’t you done enough today?” Xia Yuwei ripped the silk scarf from her neck, exposing her delicate, snow-white throat to the night air. Her skin was so pale and fine that the swollen, angry red mark in the center stood out glaringly.
She took several steps forward, pointing to the wound on her neck, her voice shaking, “Lu Yichen, look at what you’ve done today! If I’ve offended you and you treat me like this, I won’t hold it against you. But why do you have to hurt the people around me as well?! What will it take—what kind of outcome do you want before you’ll finally stop?!”
