Chapter Sixty-Four: The Black Bull
“Get out!” With a thunderous roar, Su Fei leapt forward, swinging his fists at Zhang Ming. Zhang Ming was about to reach for the fruit when a loud shout erupted behind him, followed by a wild surge of force smashing into his back.
Not daring to be careless, he twisted his body and swiftly struck out with both palms. The fierce power from his hands collided violently with the raging force of the fists.
With a resounding bang, the shockwave from the clash rippled outward, shattering the nearby trees, sending splintered wood flying in all directions.
“Courting death!” Huang Lingshan shouted, quickly unleashing a palm strike that collided with Kuang Boyuan’s hand blade.
The fierce power exploded, forcing Kuang Boyuan to retreat rapidly.
Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, Wang Lianshan dashed toward the small tree, reaching out for the fruit hanging there. Just as he was about to touch it, he sensed a shift in space and found himself transported into a mysterious realm shrouded in violet mist.
Huang Lingshan, having pushed back Kuang Boyuan, turned toward the small tree. He saw Wang Lianshan about to pluck the divine fruit and felt a surge of joy. But suddenly, Wang Lianshan’s figure flickered and vanished from the front of the tree.
Huang Lingshan’s eyes widened in fury as he shouted, “Junior Brother!” He then reached for the fruit himself.
With a muffled thud, a fist struck from behind. Huang Lingshan spun around, fists flying to meet the attacker’s blow.
Both men trembled from the impact, their gazes sharp and cold as they sized each other up.
“So it’s you, Wang Xinghe. It seems Hengyang Academy has come to snatch this opportunity as well,” Huang Lingshan said, his expression icy.
“If Battle Tiger Gate can be here, Hengyang Academy certainly can too,” the newcomer replied, tall and steadfast, his eyes flashing with a fierce brilliance.
“Don’t waste words with him, Wang Xinghe. Let’s join forces and finish him,” said a beautiful young woman in white, emerging from behind Wang Xinghe, her tone laced with chilling murderous intent.
Wang Xinghe nodded, and together they launched their attacks at Huang Lingshan.
A wild gleam flashed in Huang Lingshan’s eyes as he swung both fists, charging headlong into the oncoming assault.
The three figures intertwined, their savage palm strikes and fists clashing again and again, unleashing bursts of astonishing power that shattered the surrounding trees.
Liu Feng and Zhang Luoxue had already regrouped with Zeng Lu and Zhao Yang. Together, they rushed toward the small tree.
Just as they neared the tree, several figures darted out from the side, blocking their path.
One man wielded a gleaming long blade, slashing fiercely at Zhang Luoxue. The blade’s razor-sharp aura screeched through the air before it even reached her.
Faced with this terrifying strike, Zhang Luoxue calmly extended her right hand, lightly tapping the blade. Instantly, a blue palm of light appeared, shattering the blade’s aura and striking the weapon, sending the attacker stumbling backward.
Zhao Guang, holding a black blade, engaged in battle with a spear-wielding opponent. Sharp blade energy and lightning-fast spear thrusts erupted between them, gouging deep craters into the ground.
Liu Feng, Zeng Lu, and Zhao Yang fought together against a man wielding a massive golden hammer. The hammer swung like a tiger descending the mountain, its fierce power forcing the trio to steadily retreat.
After Zhang Luoxue forced back the swordsman, she turned and unleashed two fierce palms at the hammer-wielder.
Her palms collided with the giant hammer, producing a deafening roar. Wild energy swept outwards, and the golden hammer-wielder was sent reeling, coughing blood as he staggered back.
Zhao Guang drove off the spear-user, and the group regrouped once more.
Liu Feng, Zeng Lu, and Zhang Luoxue reached for the divine fruit. Suddenly, space warped, and they found themselves in a strange new realm.
Liu Feng quickly glanced around, realizing Zhang Luoxue and Zeng Lu were no longer at his side.
He surveyed this peculiar space, noting the pervasive violet mist. There was no moon or sun in the sky, yet a white light glowed from an unknown source.
His view was blocked by the mist, limiting his sight to a hundred meters. All he could see were shattered stones scattered across the purple soil.
There were some unknown weeds about twenty to thirty centimeters tall, nothing remarkable. Beyond that, there was nothing else.
Liu Feng lingered for a moment, but found nothing new. Cautiously, he pressed forward, walking two or three miles, seeing only weeds and broken stones.
“What is this place? Why did I suddenly arrive here just as I was about to touch the divine fruit?” Liu Feng wondered, unable to make sense of it.
He continued onward for another mile, then stopped abruptly at the sound of strange footsteps.
Looking around, he spotted a massive stone nearby. He hurried over and hid behind it.
The footsteps drew closer. Liu Feng, hiding behind the stone, carefully peeked out toward the source of the sound. Through the violet mist, a gigantic figure emerged.
It was a bovine beast, five meters tall and nearly nine meters long, its body covered in black fur. Two gleaming black horns, over a meter long, jutted from its head, sharp as blades.
The creature approached Liu Feng’s hiding spot, its massive hooves making the ground tremble with each step.
Liu Feng held his breath, motionless, until the enormous black bull moved away. Then he slowly emerged from behind the stone.
“Junior Brother, are you alright? Beast, I’ll kill you to avenge him!” Liu Feng suddenly heard an angry shout, followed by the clash of weapons.
He moved toward the sounds of battle, walking about five hundred meters before seeing the huge black bull surrounded by five men wielding large blades, furiously attacking.
The bull seemed unconcerned by their assault. It lifted a thick forehoof and kicked at them. The five men dodged aside, then turned and hacked at its legs.
A metallic clang rang out as their blades struck its hooves, sending sparks flying, yet the bull’s legs remained unscathed.
After a moment, one man was struck by a hoof, his blade shattering and his body flung through the air to land heavily on the ground. He twitched briefly, then lay still, dead.
The four survivors, enraged by their comrade’s death, swung their blades in a frenzy, but their attacks were useless. Before long, two more fell beneath the bull’s hooves.
