Chapter Ninety-Nine: Trouble
The young man in white looked at the overweight fellow fleeing in a sorry state, and a faint smile appeared on his face.
“Friend, thank you for helping us out,” Zhao Jun said as he came over and offered his thanks.
The young man in white remained calm. “I did not help you out. I merely acted for a friend and taught them a lesson, that is all.” With that, he turned back to his room.
“He’s in for big trouble now. It’s one thing that he beat those two, but the people behind them are not someone ordinary folk can afford to offend.”
“That’s right. I heard that the fat one has an elder brother whose strength has already reached the third level of the Yin-Yang Realm. Among the younger experts, he is definitely a remarkable figure.”
“The thin one’s brother is even stronger. Rumor has it he’s already reached the fourth level of the Yin-Yang Realm. Since making a name for himself, he has never met an opponent.”
Listening to the discussion among the diners on the first floor, Liu Feng frowned slightly. He had not expected those two to have such backing. It seemed that all three of them, and even the young man in white, might be in trouble.
Zhao Jun suddenly said, “Should we give the young man in white a warning and tell him to be careful?”
“That would be proper. After all, he did help us out,” Liu Feng said.
Zhao Bochao also nodded.
Zhao Jun walked straight to the white-robed young man’s door, knocked, and asked, “Friend, are you asleep?”
“Who is it?” After a moment, the young man in white opened the door. Seeing Liu Feng and the other two, he could not help but be slightly startled. “Do you need something?”
Liu Feng said, “Here’s the thing. We just heard some of the diners talking and learned that the two men you injured have very formidable people behind them. We wanted to warn you.”
“Oh? So that’s it. Then I thank you all. Anything else? If not, I’m going to rest.” After hearing Liu Feng’s words, the young man in white answered calmly, his expression careless and indifferent.
Seeing his reaction, Zhao Jun grew a little anxious. “Friend, we’re not joking. You really must be careful of those two men’s brothers. I heard their cultivation is extremely strong.”
“If there’s nothing else, I’m going to rest.” With that, the young man in white no longer paid attention to the three of them and went back into his room.
“Hey, hey, what’s with that attitude? We came kindly to warn you, and you just brush us off,” Zhao Jun said, somewhat displeased by the young man’s cold demeanor.
The only reply was a loud slam of the door.
“Forget it. We’ve already warned him. Whether he believes us or not has nothing to do with us,” Zhao Bochao said calmly, patting Zhao Jun on the shoulder.
“Right. I don’t think he’s the kind of reckless fool who acts without thinking. He probably already has a plan. We should worry about ourselves instead,” Liu Feng said, a flash of sharp light passing through his eyes.
Hearing the two of them, Zhao Jun nodded and asked, “Then tell me, how should we deal with the retaliation from those two?”
He looked to Liu Feng for an answer. Zhao Bochao also turned to Liu Feng, wanting to hear his plan. Clearly, the two of them were centered on Liu Feng.
After a moment’s thought, Liu Feng said, “We do not want trouble, but we are not afraid of it either. If those two insist on causing us problems, then they should not blame me for being merciless.” As he spoke, a fierce gleam flashed through his eyes.
“Exactly. Although Grandfather and our parents do not want us making trouble, if others come looking for us, we certainly won’t be polite when we strike back,” Zhao Jun said coldly.
“All right. Since we’ve decided on a response, let’s rest. We still have to go to Li Tian City tomorrow,” Zhao Bochao said.
Liu Feng and Zhao Jun nodded. The three of them returned to their rooms to rest.
The next morning, they went downstairs to the main hall for breakfast, and happened to see the young man in white there as well.
Zhao Jun walked over and said, “What a coincidence. I didn’t expect you to be eating here too.”
The young man in white glanced up at him and said indifferently, “The place is only this big. It’s perfectly normal to run into one another.”
“You—” Zhao Jun was momentarily at a loss for words.
At that moment, two men suddenly walked in from outside. One was a tall young man dressed in green, and the other was unexpectedly the fat youth who had been beaten the day before. They entered the hall on the first floor.
“Big brother, it was he who stabbed and injured my ear,” the fat man said at once, spotting the young man in white who was eating. He pointed at him and spoke to the tall youth.
The tall youth, whom the fat man called his big brother, looked at the young man in white and said darkly, “So you are the one who beat my brother. You’ve got quite the nerve.”
“So what if it was me? He acted wantonly, bullying decent women and trying to seize them by force. You not only failed to stop him, but came here to question me. How ridiculous,” the young man in white said angrily.
“I told you long ago to cultivate properly and stop doing those shameful things. But you would not listen. Now that something has happened, you think of me,” the fat man’s brother said to him, his tone full of disappointment.
“Big brother, are you really going to stand by and watch your own younger brother be bullied so badly? Have you forgotten what Mother told you? She said to protect me when I was outside and not let anyone bully me,” the fat man said somewhat aggrievedly.
“Fine. I will certainly avenge you,” the fat man’s brother said with some helplessness.
He turned to the young man in white and said, “I’ll give you two choices. First, let my brother cut off one of your ears, then apologize to him. Second, fight me. If you win, everything can be discussed. If you lose, I will cripple your entire cultivation.”
The young man in white gave a cold laugh. “You want me to apologize to someone like him? Don’t dream.”
“So you choose the second path, then. Don’t blame me for what happens next,” the fat man’s brother said. With a flick of his wrist, a silver halberd appeared in his hand. He leveled it horizontally and was about to strike.
“Brother, he was the one who seriously injured our elder brother. You must avenge me!” Just as the two were about to move, a voice suddenly came from outside. Then the thin youth from yesterday entered with a young man dressed in blue.
When the young man in blue saw the fat man’s brother, he was briefly stunned. “Sun Sheng, I didn’t expect your brother to have been beaten too.”
“Feng Zhuo, spare me the sarcasm. Your brother was beaten by him as well,” Sun Sheng said, refusing to back down.
Feng Zhuo looked at the young man in white and said, “Boy, do you want to fight, or will you apologize to my brother?”
“Cut the nonsense. Let’s fight,” the young man in white said, no longer willing to waste words when he saw the situation.
“Good!” The moment the word left his mouth, Feng Zhuo stepped forward and instantly appeared before the young man in white. His right fist came crashing down, its violent power like a volcano erupting, blasting toward the white-robed youth’s chest.
“Feng Zhuo, he clearly intended to fight me,” Sun Sheng said, sweeping his halberd horizontally toward the young man in white’s legs.
“Two against one? And you still call that skill?”
As Liu Feng spoke, his body flashed and he appeared in front of Sun Sheng. His palm struck out directly, landing on Sun Sheng’s halberd.
