"I can still fight!" Xiaofeng shouted, his gaze unwavering.

"Uh... there's really no need," Moxing paused, "you're already so badly injured..."

"No, I want to fight to the end!" Xiaofeng brandished his spear and charged toward Moxing.

"Ah," Moxing picked up his weapon.

"Shattering Spear Technique!"

Wind element gathered at Xiaofeng's feet, launching him into the air, his silhouette obscuring half the sun.

"Coldwater: Spiral Storm!"

Moxing drew water element, spinning his blade rapidly, sending a stream of water into the air as cover, hoping to retreat to the rear with the added flight effect.

"Dodge!"

With a shout, Xiaofeng circled around the water, thrusting directly to Moxing's back.

Moxing immediately rolled to avoid Xiaofeng's fierce strike.

A crack split the floor, dust swirling in midair.

Xiaofeng swung his spear backwards, and Moxing quickly blocked with his blade.

His opponent stabbed to the left; he parried with the sword. Then to the right; he parried again.

Each thrust changed direction, growing in force and speed, forcing Moxing to retreat and adjust his stance. This guy was really going all out!

"Their speed is increasing!" a nearby student exclaimed.

"Not just speed—their reaction, coordination, and agility are all several levels higher than before," another analyzed.

"That Xiaofeng is a wind element assassin, one of the fastest in our freshman class, but Moxing isn't falling behind at all! He seems so at ease," someone praised.

"You might not be entirely right," another interjected.

The surrounding students wondered who it was, turned, and paled.

It was Ling Ke!

The tenth-ranked freshman in the final assessment!

They'd been so engrossed in the bout between Moxing and Xiaofeng that they hadn't noticed this top-tier figure standing among them.

Ling Ke's real name was Ling Ke, a dual-gun specialist known for his ruthless style and few words.

"Moxing is close to his limit, unless—" Ling Ke paused, "he counters."

At the center of the arena.

"Why are you getting faster?" Moxing frowned; the attack frequency was rising, and he was about to reach his breaking point. He needed an opening now!

"Haha," Xiaofeng grinned, "I haven't even reached my limit! You're already struggling?"

Bang!

Moxing suddenly raised his spear, dodging to the side and slashing out a curved ice blade. Xiaofeng spun and evaded, then pressed forward again.

Moxing sent two more curved ice blades. Xiaofeng swung his spear, Dragon's Radiance, unleashing a surge of wind that swept away the ice blades!

"That move won't work!" Xiaofeng laughed, leaping into the air on a gust of wind and closing in swiftly with a brief aerial dash.

"Wind Shadow Step!"

A wind-attribute skill, gathering element to form a blue whirlwind on the user's limbs, enabling midair movement. The higher the Dragon God's power, the longer Wind Shadow Step lasts, and it can even carry others!

In the basketball leagues of the surface world, this would be a game-breaking bug—unlimited "space walks" and effortless slam dunks.

"Not necessarily," Moxing smiled, gathering water element to release several more ice blades.

"Again with that move—"

Xiaofeng was about to sweep the ice blades aside with Dragon's Radiance when he heard something echoing overhead. He turned quickly and found the curved ice blades he'd dodged earlier returning.

Coldwater: Cyclone Strike!

A new technique Moxing had mastered in the sewer casino, releasing curved ice blades for a double strike. The key was the second attack—a surprise "horseback kill" that had taken down many monsters in the last raid!

"Overlord Spear!"

Xiaofeng shouted, sweeping Dragon's Radiance in a circle, the surrounding ice blades instantly shattered and scattered by wind element.

"Didn't expect that, did you!" Xiaofeng laughed, charging at Moxing.

Moxing gathered water element and released Pillars of Ice, a ring of ice columns crashing down from above.

Xiaofeng swept aside the ice columns with Dragon's Radiance and lunged toward Moxing.

"Coldwater Grasp!"

Moxing formed a giant claw from water element and reached for Xiaofeng, but Xiaofeng spun aside and dodged.

"You've lost!" Xiaofeng roared, thrusting his spear at Moxing.

"That's not certain—" Moxing smiled, raising Frostless Divine to block. The two weapons collided, a piercing clang ringing out!

Xiaofeng hesitated, seeing ice form between the weapons and quickly spread along the spear, reaching his forearms before he could pull away; his hands and the spear became a sculpture of ice.

"What... what's happening? How did I get frozen in the blink of an eye—ah-choo!" Xiaofeng sneezed before he could finish.

It was ice at a few degrees below zero, a shock to Xiaofeng's nerves in the cool autumn air.

This was Moxing's latest skill, condensing water element into ice to freeze his opponent, derived from elemental principles and the freezing effect of Pillars of Ice. He couldn't think of a better name yet, so he simply called it—Freeze!

"Alright, that's enough, let's stop," Moxing smiled and waved.

The onlookers were stunned. Moxing was far stronger than they'd expected—not only could he match Xiaofeng's speed, but he easily defeated him, and Xiaofeng was ranked in the top hundred among freshmen!

Just like that, the winner was decided?

"Awesome! That move froze the opponent outright!" someone exclaimed.

"Yeah, what kind of skill is that? Even an agile assassin like Xiaofeng couldn't dodge it," another shook his head.

"I don't know either," a student shrugged. "But with his strength, why did he perform so poorly in the individual freshman tests?"

"Who knows? Maybe he was holding back? If he went all out, I bet he'd make the top ten!"

"That's a stretch," another argued, "and sandbagging doesn't benefit him."

"But that 2-vs-5 in the team match was truly spectacular! I think he's hiding his strength!"

"Who can say? Only he knows."

The students debated, each with their own opinion. Ling Ke didn't join in. As the tenth-ranked freshman, he knew that Moxing's current strength wasn't enough for the top ten or even the top fifty; beating Xiaofeng, ranked ninety-two, was just luck.

But he had a strong premonition: soon, Moxing would definitely climb the rankings!

Moxing, I won't forget you!

"Ah-choo—" Moxing sneezed just as he began to speak.

"Hahahahaha, aren't you the ice specialist? How come you caught a chill and sneezed?" Xiaofeng, a bit annoyed before, now couldn't help but laugh.

"Who says ice users can't get cold?" Moxing sniffled. "Does playing with fire mean you can't get burned? Where's the logic in that?"

"You don't know about elemental antibodies? Ultra-ice antibodies resist cold, ultra-fire antibodies resist burns, ultra-lightning antibodies resist paralysis..." Xiaofeng explained.

"I really didn't know," Moxing shrugged, then turned to the stands and called out:

"Mentor Muse!"

"What's up?" Muse responded.

"Let Xiaofeng be class leader," Moxing said.

"Hey, hey, hey! I don't want you to just hand it over—I want to beat you myself!" Xiaofeng protested.

"But your hands are frozen," Moxing shrugged.

"I can still kick you!" Xiaofeng snorted.

"No need for that—your legs are almost at their limit," Moxing pointed at Xiaofeng's legs.

"You did three thousand squats this morning, then fought me so fiercely, kept running and jumping—your legs are nearly spent. If you keep going, you'll pull a muscle," Moxing paused, "not worth it."

Xiaofeng froze, thought it over, and said, "Makes sense! How did you know?"

"Uh... just a hunch," Moxing smiled.

It wasn't just a hunch; he sensed it through his Water Dragon God's perception and quick analysis.

After days of grueling training, he'd not only grown stronger but his perception had reached new heights—he could vaguely sense everyone's physical state and strength.

It was like checking health, mana, and stats in a game, the difference between friend and foe clear at a glance!

"Ouch!"

Moxing's head was knocked, and he turned to find Mentor Chen Muse behind him, looking a bit annoyed, the other students trailing.

"Why are you handing the class leader position to someone else?" Muse pouted.

"I don't feel qualified to manage the class..." Moxing explained, "I think Xiaofeng is better suited, he can stir up the class..."

"If you don't know, you can learn!" Muse said. "If need be, I'll teach you!"

"Goddess Muse! I don't know how to be class leader either—teach me!" Xiaofeng blinked.

Muse shot Xiaofeng a glance and continued questioning Moxing, "If you don't want to be class leader—"

"Give me a reasonable explanation."

"Uh... well..." Moxing stammered, struggling for an answer.

What explanation did she want?

How was he supposed to explain?

"I'm leaving for Dragon Fang Isle in a few days," Moxing blurted out, "so it's not convenient to be class leader..."

It was a weak excuse, but he had nothing else.

"Oh right, I almost forgot," Muse nodded, then turned and pointed to someone in the crowd.

"Ling Ke, you'll be class leader from now on."

Huh?

Moxing was stunned.

That was a bit perfunctory!

And the twist came out of nowhere!
