At the most critical moment, the artifact in Mo Xing’s hand, “Divine Frostless,” rang out with a clear resonance, and a massive blue-white barrier instantly formed at his side. It was a soul imprint skill! The blistering Scarlet Flame Fist crashed into the barrier, erupting into a ten-meter flare of fire. The Flame Master frowned, staring at the crystalline blue-white shield shrouded in mist—astonishingly, it was completely unharmed.

“I… I withstood that punch,” Mo Xing said slowly. Though the shield had absorbed the physical impact, the mental shock still reverberated in his mind.

“Interesting, very interesting,” the Flame Master chuckled. “Boy, what’s your name? And where did you get that weapon?”

“I’m afraid I can’t tell you,” Mo Xing shook his head, gesturing toward Gou Ge and the others lying on the nearby lawn. “And I ask you to keep your promise from earlier.”

“Alright, kid,” the Flame Master nodded. “But let me give you another punch.”

“Wait! What about your word? You said if I survived your first punch, you’d let me and my senior brothers go!” Mo Xing protested.

“Oh, come on, boy,” the Flame Master grinned. “I was just saying that. Did you really take it seriously?”

“What? You—!” Mo Xing frowned. As expected, villains’ words are never to be trusted. This bizarre man probably has nothing but a wolf’s heart and a dog’s lungs inside!

“What, you? My title is the Scarlet Flame Battle God, and when I ask your name, all you say is you can’t tell me!” the Flame Master bellowed. “Looks like I’ll have to show you my second punch—otherwise you’ll never know who I am!”

“Scarlet Flame Divine Heart, Supreme Power…” The Flame Master began to mutter a new incantation.

“Ice Blades!”

Seizing the opportunity, Mo Xing gathered water elements and slashed out several rows of sharp ice blades. Rather than wait to be struck, he would fight back with all his might! He had noticed that every time this so-called Scarlet Flame Battle God made a move, he would mutter some spell first; that instant was the perfect opening.

“Your attacks are just tickling me. My second punch is three times more powerful than the first—I don’t believe you’ll survive it!” The Flame Master laughed, the air around them warping from the heat of his fist, even dissolving the “Ice Blades.”

“Second Fury! Scarlet Flame Divine Heart!”

With a surge of power, the Flame Master ignited his fist and prepared to strike at Mo Xing, but suddenly paused.

“Hm?” Mo Xing was puzzled. Why had the Flame Master stopped?

Just then, a purple six-pointed magic circle appeared on the ground, and a melodious voice descended from the sky. The Flame Master was instantly forced down by a head.

Sound Domain!

Mo Xing looked up to see Instructor Su Yunzhou floating in midair, surrounded by seven rotating purple halos.

“Ten years—it’s finally you again,” Su Yunzhou smiled faintly, the purple orb in his hand glowing ever brighter.

“Who… who are you!” the Flame Master roared, his burning hair swirling around him like serpents of fire.

“I am a survivor of the Heaven-Sealing Clan, and the one who has come to avenge them!” Su Yunzhou unleashed the purple orb toward the Flame Master.

“Well now, it seems your people aren’t all dead yet!” the Flame Master sneered, swinging a fist skyward and bellowing, “First Roar! Scarlet Flame Blast Fist!”

A colossal flaming fist swallowed the purple orb and shot toward Su Yunzhou.

“Sound Domain: Chord!”

With a flick of his finger, Su Yunzhou halted the fiery fist half a meter from himself. In the blink of an eye, it transformed into an even larger purple orb and hurtled back along its original trajectory.

“This… how can this be!” the Flame Master was incredulous, raising his flaming fist to strike—

“Second Fury! Scarlet Flame Divine Heart!”

An even greater, more explosive fire fist collided with the purple orb in midair, unleashing a fierce shockwave.

Mo Xing, watching from the sidelines, was shielded by the blue-white misty barrier, allowing him to remain standing. Gou Ge and the others, however, were swept ten meters away by the blast, only to be caught and shielded by a purple halo suspended in the air; otherwise, they’d have landed face-first in the dirt.

“Sound Domain: Aria!”

At Su Yunzhou’s command, the massive fire fist and purple orb vanished without a trace from the air, as if they’d never existed.

“How… how is this possible? My second punch was swallowed up?” the Flame Master stared in disbelief at Su Yunzhou. Who was this man?

“I’ve been preparing for this day for ten years,” Su Yunzhou shook his head, a purple orb flickering in his hand. “Outsider, it’s time you paid for your crimes.”

“Big words!” the Flame Master bared his fangs. “I am one of the mightiest Draconids on Dragonfang Isle! If I unleash my third punch, ‘Scarlet Flame Radiance,’ no one will survive—not even you!”

As he finished speaking, the Flame Master transformed into a streak of red light, teleporting behind Su Yunzhou and unleashing the full force of his ancient power. With a mighty roar, he struck:

“Triple Kill! Scarlet Flame Radiance!”

Scarlet flame is me, and I am the flame; its brilliance flashes, its attack unfathomable! No foe could survive such a blow, least of all a frail elemental mage!

Wait—why was his opponent smiling?

The Flame Master’s punch passed through Su Yunzhou like a phantom, meeting no resistance. Only then did he realize he had struck a mere afterimage!

A purple rift tore through the air, and the Flame Master was sucked into it by a formidable force.

“What… what is this thing!” he shouted in panic as he felt himself trapped.

Suddenly, a matching explosive fire fist burst from the rift, smashing the Flame Master into the ground.

“Sound Domain: Final Movement!”

A heavy sound echoed through the air, like a requiem’s final chord.

The music ended, and all dispersed.

Su Yunzhou appeared on the lawn, gazing at the Flame Master’s shattered remains. He shook his head and smiled faintly. “You never imagined, did you, that one day you’d be destroyed by your own fist?”

“Cough, cough—”

The Flame Master trembled, his bones cracking audibly as he gasped, “You… who are you?”

“I already introduced myself.” Su Yunzhou moved his fingers. “Outsider, pay for your sins in hell.”

As soon as he spoke, the air was filled with the sound of a pounding heart. A purple light erupted from within the Flame Master, and in an instant, he crumbled to dust and was scattered to the winds.

“Twelve more to go,” Su Yunzhou said, watching the fading ashes with a smile. Suddenly, he turned and asked, “Are you alright, Mo Xing?”

“Huh?”

Mo Xing, who had been watching numbly, snapped out of it at the sound of his name. “I… I’m fine!”

“That’s good.” Su Yunzhou smiled. “The Divine Ark will touch down in thirty seconds. Let’s move halfway out of the way.”

“Alright.” Mo Xing glanced up; the Divine Ark was slowly descending, so he hurried to take cover near the forest.

The scene just now still played in his mind. Instructor Su Yunzhou had dispatched the Scarlet Flame Battle God with effortless ease, obliterating him in less than two minutes.

It was the first time Mo Xing had seen someone annihilated so thoroughly—leaving not even a corpse. Even the legendary Zhang Zhihao had spared Li Qingchi before. But Su Yunzhou had made his foe vanish from this world entirely. What kind of overwhelming power did it take to do that?

No, it wasn’t just power—it was a heart burning with vengeance! What had happened ten years ago to make Instructor Su Yunzhou hate these Draconids so much?

“The Divine Ark has landed,” Su Yunzhou said quietly. “What are you thinking about? You seem distracted.”

“Oh, uh…” Mo Xing scratched his head. “I was just wondering, why doesn’t our school’s Divine Ark land directly inside Han Chuan Academy, but chooses to set down in these wild outskirts?”

“Today is special,” Su Yunzhou sighed.

“Special? Is something going to happen?” Mo Xing was confused.

“Tonight is the full moon,” Su Yunzhou explained. “Han Chuan Academy commemorates a great Dragon King on every full moon, refusing all visitors to avoid disrupting their ritual.”

“So that’s their tradition…” Mo Xing realized.

“It’s not just Han Chuan Academy. All the factions on Dragonfang Isle hold their own rituals. For them, the moon is sacred—more than that, it’s a faith.”

“Mm.”

Mo Xing nodded. Wasn’t this another world’s version of the Mid-Autumn Festival? A monthly ritual with a day off for the whole school—quite nice, actually.

Elsewhere.

St. Sky Royal Academy, Hades Training Ground.

Xiao Feng sat alone on the steps, watching the setting sun and counting the minutes.

He had wanted to challenge Mo Xing to another duel in this combat class, but that guy had gone off on some mission. Add to that Instructor Chen Mosi’s coldness, and Xue Dinghai’s constant troublemaking, and Xiao Feng had been frustrated all day.

“Boss, boss!”

“What do you want? Can’t you see I’m thinking?” Xiao Feng turned to find his underlings running over.

“S-someone gave you a love letter!” the first one announced.

“Really? Boy or girl?” Xiao Feng asked, suspicious.

“It’s true! And from a girl!” The lackey handed him the letter.

“Really? Let me see!” Xiao Feng grabbed the envelope eagerly.

“The handwriting’s pretty, the phrasing’s good… but I wonder if she’s ugly?” Xiao Feng frowned, pondering.

“No way! She’s one of the beauties among the new students!” the lackey praised. “Boss, check the signature at the end!”

“Li… Li Hua?” Xiao Feng rubbed his eyes, still groggy from a poor night’s sleep.

After a second look, the sender’s name came into focus—

“Li Xiangcao!”
