Hua’an Street, a certain food delivery station.
It was the peak mealtime; all the delivery drivers had gone out on their orders. Hong Yu was in the office reconciling accounts, while two dispatchers busily worked at their computers.
Since becoming the station manager of this large hub, Hong Yu had become even busier, barely having time to care for her child, so she had hired a nanny to help.
Naturally, her salary had risen accordingly, now nearly reaching twenty thousand yuan a month.
Just then, someone walked in.
Hong Yu looked up and was shocked and delighted to see Lin Qi!
She jumped up like a child, exclaiming, “Lin Qi, what are you doing here?”
She was truly overjoyed because all she had achieved was thanks to Lin Qi’s help—if she were ten years younger and without children, she wouldn’t hesitate to pursue him!
Lin Qi smiled warmly. “Long time no see. I just came to check on you.”
Then, he quietly whispered a few words into Hong Yu’s ear.
Hong Yu’s expression immediately turned serious. She nodded and said, “Take her upstairs.”
Lin Qi responded with a “Hmm,” turned, and went out the door, taking a set of delivery uniforms with him.
Hong Yu settled the two dispatchers and then went upstairs to wait.
Lin Qi stood outside, opened the door of a Wuling Hongguang van, and tossed in the uniform and helmet. “Put this on.”
Song Qingzhu was startled. “Why do I have to wear this?”
Lin Qi rubbed his forehead helplessly. “Sister, you’re a big name in Haitong City, often on TV and magazines. What if someone sees you out? Are you worried those two won’t find this place?”
Song Qingzhu fell silent.
“Hurry and change. I’ll watch the area for you.” Lin Qi closed the door, turned his back, and scanned around.
Gritting her teeth, Song Qingzhu reluctantly pulled off her long skirt, put on the delivery uniform, and donned the helmet.

The delivery uniform—whose it was, no one knew—reeked of strong sweat odor, almost making Song Qingzhu faint.
She endured the stench and stepped out of the van.
Lin Qi glanced at her and nodded. “This looks okay, but the shoes won’t do. Wait here.”
He returned to the station and brought out a pair of worn sneakers.
Seeing the shoes, Song Qingzhu nearly retched, stubbornly saying, “I won’t change. No one will notice my feet…”
“Enough nonsense, change now!”
Lin Qi snapped. When Song Qingzhu hesitated, he pushed her down into the passenger seat.
“What are you doing…”
Before she could finish, Lin Qi had pulled off her high heels.
Then, he grasped her feet.
At that moment, Song Qingzhu felt a tingling numbness spread throughout her body, almost gasping out loud; her breathing became difficult, and her whole body went limp, powerless.
—Since that time Lin Qi had massaged her feet, Song Qingzhu often reminisced about the sensation and secretly liked it. Sometimes she wished for it again but had no reason. Now that her wish had come true, unprepared, she lost composure instantly.
Unaware of her inner turmoil, Lin Qi quickly helped her into the worn sneakers. “Alright, get up.”
But Song Qingzhu remained motionless.
“What are you waiting for? Get up!” Lin Qi lightly kicked her foot.
Slowly, she sat up, cheeks flushed slightly. Looking at Lin Qi now, she was both angry and resentful. “Why did you just touch my feet like that?”
“Stop talking so much. Let’s go!”
Lin Qi turned and entered the delivery station; Song Qingzhu had no choice but to follow.
Now, wearing the helmet and uniform, no one paid her the slightest attention.

Upstairs, Hong Yu waved from the doorway of a room. “Here!”
Lin Qi led Song Qingzhu inside and closed the door behind them.
Only then did Song Qingzhu remove her helmet and breathe deeply.
“Director Song…” Hong Yu greeted hurriedly, her expression somewhat tense.
“No need to call me Director Song anymore. That’s over.” Lin Qi flopped onto the sofa and pointed at Hong Yu. “Call her Sister Yu.”
Song Qingzhu shot Lin Qi a fierce glare but still said, “Sister Yu.”
“Not at all, not at all…” Hong Yu waved her hands repeatedly and then invited Song Qingzhu to sit.
After pouring water for them both, she asked, “What exactly happened?”
Lin Qi smiled. “Little Song offended someone, now being hunted down, and she’s hiding here.”
Hong Yu was an ordinary person among the millions in the world; concepts like “being hunted” were far removed from her reality. Yet, she resolutely said, “Don’t worry. While you’re here, I won’t let anyone harm a single hair on Director Song’s head!”
If the pursuers managed to reach here, even a hundred Hong Yus wouldn’t stop them, but Song Qingzhu was still deeply moved. “Sister Yu, thank you so much!”
Hong Yu hurriedly replied, “Director Song, please don’t be so formal. I’m the station manager here, and you helped me…”
After a few more words, Hong Yu went downstairs to attend to her duties.
Song Qingzhu stood up and looked around anxiously. “Is this place really safe?”
“They definitely won’t find you here,” Lin Qi said confidently.
