Chapter 109: Letting Go

Lynch and Song Qingzhu could hardly be considered ordinary people. Having long held lofty positions, they had already absorbed an air of nobility. Even dressed in the plainest civilian clothes, they were like fireflies in the dark—professionals could recognize them at a glance.

Delivery uniforms, however, were a different matter altogether. They completely suppressed one's aura, especially once the helmet was donned. In that guise, one blended seamlessly into the crowd; handsome or beautiful, CEO or manager, no one would spare a second glance.

This was precisely why Lynch had chosen the delivery industry in the first place. Wearing a helmet for ten hours a day, no soul could recognize him.

Lynch carefully explained this reasoning to Song Qingzhu.

Frowning, she asked, “You mean you want me to become a delivery person?”

Lynch nodded. “If you want to live and avoid their detection, being a delivery person is undoubtedly the best choice.”

Song Qingzhu lowered her head, silent.

Lynch understood her thoughts. Once the CEO of Jinyang Group, wealthy beyond measure and dazzlingly prominent, she now had to resort to delivering food. Anyone would find that hard to swallow.

Ten years ago, when Lynch first left Kyoto, he felt the same way—he could not adapt to a life of anonymity and constant hiding. But then Tang Long and the others posed a question: “Do you want to die, or do you want to live?”

Lynch chose to live, and his mindset swiftly changed.

Now, not only would he not hesitate to become a delivery man, he wouldn’t even mind begging on the streets.

Not just to survive, but to endure—so that one day, he could strike back in Kyoto and exact his revenge.

Today, Lynch asked Song Qingzhu the same question: “Do you want to die, or do you want to live?”

She remained silent.

Lynch sighed softly. Perhaps for this young woman, her pride mattered more than life itself.

For a once-feared female CEO to suddenly become a delivery girl—it was truly hard to accept.

“Think it over carefully,” Lynch said. “If you come to terms with it, tomorrow we deliver together. If not, you can step out that door and let those two kill you.”

Lynch still hoped to extract information about that organization from Song Qingzhu, so he wanted to stay close to her.

“I’m downstairs. Call me if you need anything,” Lynch said as he turned to leave.

Downstairs, Lynch exchanged a few words with Hongyu, instructing her not to reveal Song Qingzhu’s presence here.

“Don’t worry, I know what to do,” Hongyu promised earnestly.

Just then, Lynch’s phone rang. He stepped outside to answer—it was Tang Long.

Tang Long had learned about Lynch “borrowing troops” from Black Bear.

“Master, forgive me for asking, but has something else happened?” Tang Long asked cautiously, afraid to upset Lynch.

Lynch did not conceal anything and recounted the earlier events.

Tang Long was shocked. “Their organization’s influence spans the entire Greater Xia? Are they bragging, or is it true?”

“I don’t think it’s bragging,” Lynch said. “They killed the CEO of Jinyang Group just like that, and claimed no matter where Song Qingzhu flees, they can find and kill her. No ordinary faction would be this brazen.”

After a moment’s silence, Tang Long said, “Master, I’ll come to you. We need to talk in detail.”

Half an hour later, Tang Long arrived at the delivery station.

To avoid exposing Lynch, Tang Long also changed into a delivery uniform and even drove an inconspicuous Jinbei van.

Inside the vehicle, they discussed matters at length.

“If this organization is really so powerful and can be turned to our advantage, our revenge will be within reach!” Tang Long said gravely.

Lynch wholeheartedly agreed.

When they had all escaped Kyoto together, each had since made achievements in various industries and fields—some even could be said to dominate their domains. Yet compared to Lü Wanfang of Kyoto, they were worlds apart. Lü Wanfang could annihilate everyone here with a mere flick of his pinky.

They were prepared to dedicate their lives to this cause.

If Song Qingzhu’s organization truly was so formidable, with influence throughout Greater Xia, why not ride that tide?

This was precisely why Lynch was willing to help Song Qingzhu again and again.

Unfortunately, she remained too guarded, refusing to reveal a single truthful word.

“Master, what do you think about this…” Tang Long muttered, proposing a suggestion.

“Are you willing to?” Lynch asked after hearing Tang Long’s idea.

Tang Long grinned broadly. “What’s there to be unwilling about? We’ve done so much already, haven’t we? All for the day we can help you take revenge. As long as we achieve that, nothing else matters!”

Lynch was touched. “Alright, let’s go find Song Qingzhu now!”

The two men got out of the vehicle and entered the delivery station, heading to the second floor.

Inside a certain room, Song Qingzhu sat on the sofa, lost in thought.

Seeing Lynch enter, she looked up and said, “Lynch, I’ve made up my mind. Tomorrow, I’ll deliver with you…”

Before she could finish, she noticed someone standing behind Lynch.

“Oh…” Song Qingzhu quickly covered her face, afraid anyone would recognize her as the CEO of Jinyang Group.
