Wedding

The fifth day of the month, early morning.
The first ray of sunlight streamed through the window.
Lin Qi sat at the edge of the bed and gently tapped Luo Feifei’s nose.
“Mmm…” Luo Feifei made a small sound through her nose, groggily waking up.
“Brother-in-law, you’re up so early…” Luo Feifei yawned and sat up. “Wait a moment, I’ll go make breakfast…”
“There’s no need for breakfast,” Lin Qi said with a smile. “Today is our wedding day.”
Luo Feifei snapped fully awake, her eyes wide. “W-what?”
“Today is our wedding day, did you forget? We agreed on the fifth!”
“We… we did agree… but… is it really happening?”
She stared at Lin Qi in disbelief. She had thought his talk about a wedding on the fifth was just to provoke her family.
“Of course it’s real. Get up quickly, we’re going to get married!” Lin Qi pulled her out of bed.
Luo Feifei was in a daze as she dressed, washed up, and even as she tried to put on makeup.
“Don’t bother with makeup. There will be a professional makeup artist waiting for us, and there are outfits for us to change into…” Lin Qi hurried her along, leading her out the door.
Downstairs, a brown Rolls-Royce with several sixes in the license plate glided toward them, dazzling in the morning sun.
The car stopped before them.
A chauffeur in a tailcoat respectfully opened the car door for them.
“Get in,” Lin Qi said with a gentle smile.
“Where did you rent this? It must be expensive…” Luo Feifei’s eyes were round with surprise.
“The money’s already spent, so just get in,” Lin Qi laughed, pushing Luo Feifei into the car.

Elsewhere.
Luo Yingying and Young Master Tong’s wedding preparations were also well underway.
At exactly eleven o’clock in the morning, they arrived outside the Dongming Grand Hotel.
The hotel entrance had been lavishly decorated, with ribbons and balloons in abundance. A massive red arch bore the names of Young Master Tong and Luo Yingying.
Firecrackers crackled, and a large group of people got out of their cars at the entrance.
Friends gathered round, offering their congratulations to the newlyweds.
“Thank you, thank you…” Young Master Tong and Luo Yingying beamed with happiness.
Just as they were about to enter the hotel, Luo’s father suddenly asked, “Young Master Tong, how come your parents aren’t here yet?”
Young Master Tong looked around, but indeed, his parents were nowhere in sight.
For such an important event as the wedding ceremony, how could the groom’s parents be absent?
Young Master Tong was just taking out his phone to call them when a black BMW X5 slowly rolled up.
“They’re here!” someone shouted.
Young Master Tong looked up and saw that it was indeed his father’s car.
The X5 stopped, the window rolled down, revealing a chubby face, with a beautiful, elegant lady in the passenger seat.
“Dad, Mom, the wedding is about to start!” Young Master Tong urged.
“Son, I can’t attend your wedding!” his father declared.
“Why?!” Young Master Tong’s eyes widened.
“Just now, President Tang of Longyue Group called me and invited me to another wedding—right across the street at the Divine Pearl Grand Hotel! I’ve known President Tang for five years, and this is the first time he’s personally called me. I must honor him!” His father’s expression was excited. “Besides, this is the perfect chance to enter high society and make connections with influential people! Son, in-laws, I’m sorry—hold the wedding without us. I’ll give you a big red envelope later!”
“Son, in-laws, goodbye!” his mother in the passenger seat also waved.

“Dad! Mom!”
Young Master Tong called out anxiously, but his father had already driven the BMW X5 toward the Divine Pearl Grand Hotel across the street.
Young Master Tong was left speechless. “Which rich heir is getting married today, stealing all my thunder!”
He gazed across the road.
The entire Luo family also turned to look.
Across the street stood the Divine Pearl Grand Hotel, the only six-star hotel in Haitong City.
The entrance was buzzing with excitement, luxury cars lining the driveway. Ribbons and balloons festooned the entire hotel, with countless banners cascading down from the floors above, each inscribed with blessings and the names of Haitong’s most prominent businesses and conglomerates.
The sound of firecrackers and fireworks was unending, and celebrities were performing live. The spectacle and grandeur there made the Dongming Grand Hotel pale in comparison.
“T-that…” Luo’s father stammered, pointing across the street as if he’d seen a ghost.
Everyone looked over. There, too, stood a massive arch in front of the Divine Pearl Grand Hotel.
On it were written two names: Lin Qi and Luo Feifei.
“How is that possible!” the crowd gasped in unison. “Must be a coincidence! It has to be someone with the same names!”
At that moment, the brown Rolls-Royce with the string of sixes on its license plate slowly crossed the road.
Its appearance immediately drew every gaze.
It was too beautiful, too radiant, and the front was adorned with a profusion of fresh flowers—clearly a bridal car.
The gleaming Rolls-Royce came to a gentle stop at the entrance of the Divine Pearl Grand Hotel.
