Feihong Group, President’s Office.

Lin Qi sat at his desk, reviewing files on the Fangyuan Group while mapping out a plan to sabotage them. It was a massive undertaking that would take at least three days to complete. He had to pick up the pace; time waited for no one, and he had a mere three months!

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

"Come in!" Lin Qi said without looking up.

"Mr. Lin." A man entered and walked up to his desk.

Lin Qi looked up. He recognized him—Shen Ze, one of the vice presidents of Feihong Group.

"Vice President Shen, what is it?" Lin Qi asked.

"Mr. Lin, could you come to my office for a moment?" Shen Ze asked, looking deferential.

"If there’s something to say, can’t you just say it here? Why must I go to your office?" Lin Qi asked, bewildered.

"Mr. Lin, it’s a truly urgent matter. I can only discuss it in my office..." Shen Ze lowered his voice.

"Fine, let’s go." Lin Qi stood up and followed him out.

Soon, the two arrived at Shen Ze’s office.

"Mr. Lin, look at who that is," Shen Ze said, closing the door and pointing toward a girl slumped over the desk.

"Luo Feifei?!" Lin Qi’s brow furrowed.

He still remembered her name? Shen Ze felt a surge of joy. It seemed Lin Qi truly was fond of her; his plan was a hundred percent successful!

Lin Qi sensed something was wrong. He hurried over to Luo Feifei and found she was sound asleep, with a glass of murky tea sitting nearby.

"What did you do to her?!" Lin Qi turned back, glaring at Shen Ze with fury.

Unfortunately, Shen Ze misinterpreted his reaction, assuming he was already excited. Taking credit for the situation, Shen Ze described what he had done and said triumphantly, "Mr. Lin, take your time. I’ll step out for a bit. After you’re finished, I’ll handle the aftermath..." Shen Ze was an old hand at this; a bit of hush money would settle it.

As Shen Ze turned to leave, Lin Qi, unable to contain his rage any longer, lunged forward and delivered a vicious kick to his back.

"Bang!"

Shen Ze face-planted onto the marble floor, blood streaming from his head immediately.

"Mr. Lin, what is the meaning of this..."

Shen Ze scrambled up, dazed and confused, but before he could finish his question, Lin Qi rushed over and kicked him hard in the stomach several times.

"From tomorrow on, don't bother coming to work. Go to HR and resign!" Lin Qi roared, beating Shen Ze relentlessly.

Shen Ze was no match for him and fell unconscious after a few blows. Knowing that continuing would surely kill him, Lin Qi was still boiling with indignation; he grabbed Shen Ze by the hair and slammed his head against the floor a few more times before finally stopping.

He then rushed back to check on Luo Feifei. After confirming her vitals were stable, he breathed a sigh of relief. It was just a mild sedative; she would be fine once she woke up. He called in a few female employees and instructed them to take Luo Feifei to a nearby hotel to rest. After a moment's thought, he scribbled a note and tucked it into her pocket.

At the hotel, Luo Feifei slept for three hours before waking up.

"Ah, how did I fall asleep?" She sat up abruptly, realizing she was in a hotel room. She immediately checked her clothes and, finding them intact, let out a sigh of relief.

"I remember being in Vice President Shen’s office... how did I get here?" Bewildered, she checked her pockets and found the note.

It read: Do not drink tea given to you by strangers in the future.

Luo Feifei understood immediately what had happened and cursed Shen Ze under her breath. At the same time, she felt a thrill of excitement, recognizing Lin Qi’s handwriting.

"Brother-in-law came for me! He saved me!" His presence washed away her anger. She rushed out, returned to the company, and shared the good news with Tang Long.

Tang Long smiled. "I know. Lin Qi called me and said he’d reach out again in a few days."

"Oh? Then why didn't you tell me?"

"I figured he would reach out to you himself. Didn't he leave you a note?"

Tang Long’s expression darkened. "Still, for a vice president of Feihong Group to dare drug you in broad daylight—it’s lawless! I certainly won’t let him get away with this!"

Tang Long used his connections to track Shen Ze down, only to learn that he was already hospitalized with severe injuries.

"It seems Lin Qi was one step ahead of me," Tang Long laughed.

"Knowing my brother-in-law is looking out for me makes me feel so much safer!" Luo Feifei beamed.

In the days that followed, Luo Feifei threw herself into her work with even greater dedication. She knew she could reach Lin Qi on his phone now, but she never initiated contact. She knew that when her brother-in-law wanted to see her, he would come.

He was busy with important matters.

And so, she would wait.
